Corporate Partnerships Appreciation Night volunteers needed!

Dear Calgary 4-H Region and Mountain View District, Clubs and/or individual 4-H Members:
The 4-H Foundation of Alberta would like to invite anyone from within your Region, Districts, Clubs and/or individual 4-H members to participate in the 4-H Showcase and 4-H Sponsor Engagement  at the 6th Annual 4-H Alberta Corporate Partnerships Appreciation Evening taking place at the Pomeroy Hotel at Olds College on Thursday, November 3, 2016.

This year’s event will be run similar to 2015 where we will have a full stand-up meal with a 4-H mingle and showcase simultaneously taking place. As sponsors arrive we would like to invite them to interact with 4-H members while everyone enjoys the delicious elegant reception appetizer meal consisting of assorted beef, chicken, and more. Following the 4-H mix and mingle sponsors and 4-H attendees will be invited to a sit down dessert bar and entertained by some keynote speakers for 25 minutes.

Each year our Appreciation night reflects a different theme, the 2016 theme is “Celebrating 40 years at the Alberta 4-H Centre” taking the time to reflect on and acknowledge the facility that has put 4-H Alberta on the map as it relates to  4-H members old and present in Alberta.

Below is a timeframe for the evening’s events:

12:00 - 4:00 p.m.
-          Ask all 4-H clubs and volunteers to set up their showcase
4:00 p.m.
-          All 4-H clubs and volunteers must be present in Olds to prepare for the evening’s events
4:30 p.m.
-        4-H Foundation to provide a last minute briefing to everyone on the evening’s activities and answer any final questions
5:00 p.m.
-          Sponsors and guest will begin to arrive
5:30 - 6:45 p.m.
-          Dinner will be served, while 4-H mingle and engagement takes place
6:45 p.m.
-           Sponsor photo
6:55 - 7:30 p.m.
-          Evening’s programme, that will consist of welcome, 4-H pledge, 4-H awareness, and special guest speaker
7:30 - 8:00 p.m.
-          Cleanup

o   Preferably experienced intermediate or senior members

·         Table Hosts (25-30  4-H members, leaders, parent volunteers)

o   Because we do not have assigned seating for sponsors we would like to assign 2 4-H volunteers to each table to ensure there is always a 4-H presence to engage with sponsors

·         Club Presentation (1 4-H Club )

o   Looking for one club to be a part of our Key Speakers presentation during dessert

o   Maximum of 5 minutes

o   Can be presented by speech or visual presentation (ie. powerpoint, video)

  • Take Down (As many clubs and volunteers as possible)
    • 7:30 p.m. - until complete
    • The more help we have the sooner we will finish

This is a great occasion for 4-H Alberta to demonstrate the benefits and outcomes resulting from the commitment of financial support, volunteer hours, resources and expertise that have been provided by our Corporate Partners. It is a chance for 4-H Alberta to thank our dedicated Corporate Partners, as well as to provide a firsthand opportunity for our partners to engage directly with 4-H members and leaders in order to fully grasp the benefits and value of the 4-H program.
Each 4-H participant and his or her family are invited to join us for dinner as well.

*Each position will be biased on first come first serve basis

If you or your club are interested in participating in this unique occasion, please fill out the attached application form prior to October 14, 2016. For additional information, please call: Lisa Patzer 1-780-352-1148

On behalf of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen and the 2016 Barnburner Committee, we would like to thank you all for your generous sponsorship of, and contributions to CAPL’s fundraiser for the Alberta 4-H.  Over the past 11 years the CAPL has raised over $149,000 for the Alberta 4-H, which provides for enriching experiences for youth throughout the province.  This year we continued our support of the Alberta 4-H at the 2016 CAPL Barnburner 2.0 !  We are extremely excited to announce that with the generous support of our 2016 sponsors and contributors, this year’s fundraiser was an amazing success, raising over $10,000.00 for the Alberta 4-H, bringing the total to $159,000 to date!!  This simply could not have happened without your investment in this fundraiser and in our 4-H youth.  The dollars raised will be contributed to the 7 different Regional Communications Competitions, Club Week at Olds College, and the Summer Camping Programs held province wide.

Thank you again for your participation in this event and dedication to the Alberta 4-H.  We appreciate your commitment and support and look forward to working with you all again next year!!

I.T.S. Travel & Cruise 4-H Booking Program

FREE Money for Your 4-H Club

Parents, grandparents, leaders, friends and neighbors, can all help raise funds for your local 4-H Club each time they book their travel arrangements through Select Holidays & I.T.S. Travel & Cruise. This includes air flights, vacations packages, cruise vacations, travel insurance, cars, hotels and more.....
Upon making a booking, all patrons can then specify which local 4-H Alberta club they wish to benefit as a result of using Select Holidays & I.T.S. for their travel arrangements.
The amount of services and travel purchased will then determine the financial support going back to the patron's 4-H Alberta club of choice, and the 4-H Foundation of Alberta.

I.T.S. has committed to following financial dollars, based on booking amounts, to be forwarded to local clubs and the 4~H Foundation of Alberta:

· Up to $1999 receives $25.00 per person
· $2000 - $4999 receive $50.00 per person
· $5000+ receive $100 per person

How to use the Booking Program

1. Anytime throughout the year, book a flight, car, hotel, etc. by contacting I.T.S. Travel & Cruise:

I.T.S. Travel & Cruise
Lynn Holinski
5056-50th St.
Innisfail, AB T4G 1S7
Phone: 1.877.227.4348
email: lynn@itstvl.com

2. Upon booking, state the 4-H Club you would like to receive the financial benefit from your booking. 75% of the financial support based on the booking amounts listed above will go directly to the club you specify; the remaining 25% will go to the 4-H Alberta Member and Leader Travel Fund.
3. Quarterly, the 4-H Foundation will forward funds provided by I.T.S. Travel & Cruise via EFT to applicable 4-H clubs.

For Example: Joe Smith from Blufton, AB calls into I.T.S. Travel and books a trip for him and his wife totalling $2,100.00 each, or $4,200.00 total for them both.

I.T.S. Travel & Cruise asks Joe Smith if there is a local 4-H club he would like to direct his bookings support to. Joe Smith specifies that he would like the Rimbey 4-H Canine Club to benefit.

Because Joe's trip costs $2,000.00 a person, $100 is able to be provded back to 4-H Alberta. 75% of that will be directed to Joe's specified club (Rimbey 4-H Canine Club) and the remaining 25% will go to benefit the 4-H Alberta Member and Leader Travel Fund. In other words, $75 will go to Rimbey 4-H Canine Club and $25 will be directed to the 4-H Alberta Member and Leader Travel fund.
