4-H Members and Families, we have a new exciting opportunity just for you! The Calgary Flames Western Night, held at the Scotiabank Saddledome, was so successful that the Flames Organization has a follow-up opportunity for 4-H Alberta!

"What an exciting and entertaining night it was. The entire 4-H event was made easy to organize and execute because of the respect and patience from all of those that were in attendance," To say thanks Calgary Sports and Entertainment would like to offer a Calgary Roughnecks ticket special with a ticket discount up to 63% off (depending on where you are seated). On March 28^th the Calgary Roughnecks lacrosse team will battle the Toronto Rock during the Roughnecks Redneck Night!

In addition, special guests from the reality TV Show Duck Dynasty  will be present to help host and cheer on the Roughnecks, and the make Roughnecks Redneck Night complete!

The game starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Saddledome in Calgary. Tickets are $22 per adult, and $20 per child. First come first serve for best available seating. The 1st Annual 4-H Night at the Flames Game was a Great Success!

 

The 1^st Annual 4-H Night at the Flames Game was held Friday February 20^th, 2015. The Calgary Flames faced off in an intense battle against fellow Western Conference rival the Anaheim Ducks. Though they played a great game, the Flames lost 6-3 at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Despite the loss, 4-Hers in attendance were excited to have the chance to cheer on one of our favourite Alberta teams and watch some awesome NHL hockey!

 4-H Alberta clubs were invited to sell tickets to this game at a discounted price. A portion of the proceeds were then donated back to 4-H Alberta. A total of 670 tickets were sold, the maximum number of seats available to sell! The 4-H Alberta ticketholders in attendance were also the largest affiliated group to ever attend a Flames Game at the Saddledome. 

 The 4-H Foundation of Alberta and Calgary Flames turned ticket sales into contest among the clubs to help raise awareness for the game. As a prize, the 3 clubs that sold the most tickets would have the exciting opportunity to choose a representative from their club to ride on the Calgary Flames Zamboni between periods! The top three clubs for ticket sales are as follows:

 

1^st - Rockyford Beef 4-H Club – representative Sam Kathol rode the zamboni

2^nd - West Carstairs 4-H Club – representative Jake Weitz rode the zamboni

3^rd - Lamond 4-H Club– representative Hailey Logan rode the Zamboni

 

The Calgary Flames held a random draw for a lucky 4-Her and 3 guests to win a meet and greet with Calgary Flames former left wing Curtis Glencross after the game. Virginia Harvey of East Ponoka 4-H Beef Club was the recipient of this prize and all 4 members were also given free Glencross jerseys for him to sign.

 

In addition, after the game all 670 4-H participants were invited onto the ice where everyone gathered around the centre ice Flame logo to pose for a group photo.

 Thanks to all of the clubs who participated, from near and far, and to those who purchased the Flames tickets!  4-H Alberta would like to extend a resounding thank you to the Calgary Flames organization for providing us with this amazing opportunity and for the chance for us to have such an enjoyable outing. Ticket sales from this initiative raised $3,350 for 4-H Alberta!

 

 

Wanna ride on the Zamboni during the 4-H Night at the Flames Game next month?

Just a reminder that 4-H night at the Flames game is taking place Friday February 20th and tickets are selling fast!

 $40 a ticket includes a food and beverage voucher, a chance to win Flames merchandise, a spotlight on the Jumbotron and if we can sell 400 tickets a post game photo on the ice!...

As a small incentive we would like to award 2 4-H members the chance to represent 4-H Alberta between the first and second period on the Zamboni!

How can I get on the Zamboni you ask?

The Calgary Flames have been keeping track of where each ticket sold has come from. The top 2 clubs who have sold the most tickets by Wednesday February 18th will be put in a draw and a 4-H member will be chosen to ride on zamboni.

How do I ensure are club gets credit for each ticket sold?

Each time someone calls in to order tickets, they are asked which club they are associated with, remind all your friends and family to say your club’s name.

This contest has already started and the top 5 clubs as of right now are as follows:

West Carstairs Beef Club – 41 tickets
Rockyford Beef Club – 39 tickets
Lomond 4-H Club – 33 tickets
Jenner 4-H Club – 21 tickets
Wardner 4-H Club – 20 tickets

4-H Night at the Calgary Flames Sold Out!

The Calgary Flames and Staff at 4-H Alberta would like to thank everyone who bought tickets and help spread the word about our first Annual 4-H Night at the Flames game taking place this Friday, February 20 at the Scotiabank Saddledome vs the Ducks!

 

 

 

We have received an overwhelming response from 4-H Clubs, Families, Volunteers and Alumni over the past few months, so much so that we actually completely sold out of tickets!

 

4-H Alberta is going to be making a huge presence at this Friday's game with over 675 tickets sold! Way to go 4-H Alberta! This will set a record in the Scotiabank Saddledome for the most group tickets ever sold for a Calgary Flames Game!

 

To help us spread the word about this game and sell tickets we created a contest, every time someone called in to purchase tickets they were asked to select a club in which they are associated with or heard about the game from, a tab was then collected and it was determined that the top 2 clubs would have a 4-H member be randomly selected to ride on the Zamboni between the 1st and 2nd intermissions and represent 4-H Alberta. On Friday February 13th the top 2 clubs were Rockyford Beef and West Carstairs Beef. Looking forward to seeing you guys on the ice between periods!

 

As an extra bonus and gratitude from the Calgary Flames a lucky 4-H member and 3 guests from the East Ponoka 4-H Beef Club was randomly selected for a meet and greet with local farm boy Curtis Glencross after the game!

 

If you are attending the game on Friday please see the additional notes below about getting onto the ice after the game:

After the game we will be doing a picture on the Saddledome ice around the Calgary Flames logo. Because we had such a good turnout for the event we had to seat some clubs in sections other than the East side of the Press Level. If everyone could gather in sections PL13, 14 and 15 (east side) post game so that we can organize everyone before heading down to ice level. Those of you that contacted me for tickets if you could meet me at the bottom of PL14 right after the game, I need to give you bracelets for you to distribute to everyone so they can get onto the ice. I will have an envelope for each of you.

We will have to stay up in the Press Level for about 20-25 minutes after the game. Once we are given the go ahead myself and the ushers will be directing everyone to section 208 to get down to ice level. Please wait for our word before heading down to that section.
