4-H Day

Time:  9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Registration at AB Ballroom Foyer. Workshop throughout Hall A/B and Meeting Room 301-302

4-H is one of the most important youth associations in North America (as well as the rest of the world)—providing education and guidance to children, teens and young adults who are invested in the agricultural lifestyle.  Topics will involve a balance between equine and beef, life skills and other farming related subjects. Northlands is proud of its continuing relationship with 4-H and has supported their attendance at the Farm and Ranch Show in the past by providing both speakers and financial support.

Northlands Arena Survey!

Many of you have attended concerts, hockey games, rodeo and more at the Northlands arena. With the opening of a new downtown arena in 2016, the Northlands Board of Directors formed an Arena Strategy Committee comprised of 17 members of the community. The committee will deliver a recommendation to the Northlands Board of Directors regarding future facility and site use of Rexall Place which will be made public on April 15, 2015.

As your entertainment destination for more than 135 years, we’ve seen your passion come out at our events. That’s why we want to hear from you. Tell us what you think we should do with our arena so the best decision can be made for our community.

It's all about the farm at this year's Northlands Farm & Ranch Show!

 

Calling all rising stars of the agriculture industry! Book you calendars for Saturday, March 29, 2014 for 4-H Day at the Northlands Farm & Ranch Show.

 

Looking for an opportunity to interact with industry leaders while applying the skills you have learned in your 4-H Club to real world settings? Northlands is just as invested in the future of agriculture as our members are and they have put together a schedule of events that will allow members to learn about the industry while networking with their peers and industry leaders.

 

4-H Day at Northlands Farm & Ranch Show stars early and ends late, so you can be sure to pack in as many seminars, demonstrations and hands on experiences into one day as possible!

 

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Alberta Ballroom Foyer and includes activities such as:

 

• University of Alberta's Multi Species Judging Competition
• Consumer Decision Making
• Beef Workshops and Seminars
• Equine Feature Breed Demonstrations and Clinicians
• Farming Smart Speakers and more!

 

Saturday, March 29, 2014 4-H members will receive FREE entry into Northlands Farm & Ranch Showing their 4-H membership card, and if they wish, wearing 4-H clothing!

 

The fund does not have to stop there - Northlands has your Saturday night plans covered!

 

Don't miss a minute of the action and cheer on some of the toughest collegiate rodeo competitors at the Canadian College Finals Rodeo presented by Martin Deerline. For three wild nights, participants hailing from post-secondary schools across Western Canada will compete to be the top of their class in six major rodeo events - tie down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, barrel racing and bull riding in addition to team roping, goat tying, breakaway roping and pole bending.

Join Ag for Life for the second annual Harvest Gala

Ag for Life will be hosting its second annual Harvest Gala at Northlands in Edmonton on Saturday, November 2, 2013. 

 

This event supports the work Ag for Life does with agriculture education and farm safety programs across Alberta and is a wonderful evening of great Alberta food, entertainment and networking.  If you're interested in supporting a strong agricultural industry, learning about the programs Ag for Life supports and having a great time at this end of harvest event, please visit Ag for Life's website here to purchase tickets. 

 

4-H Ambassadors Needed
