Spruce Meadows Leg
Up Foundation volunteer opportunity!
Attn: 4-H
Alberta clubs, members, leaders and families.
The Spruce Meadows Leg Up Foundation has been
created to support initiatives that bring positive change to the lives of
Canadians.
One way that the foundation is raising funds is
through the sale of 50/50 tickets at each of the Spruce Meadows Tournaments and
select special events.
We need a great deal of assistance to realize
this vision of supporting the many charities in need.
We would like to ask your organization to
assist us by providing volunteers to sell 50/50 tickets at Spruce Meadows
events. Ticket sellers need to be a minimum
of 18 years of age or 16 years if accompanied by an adult.
The upcoming Summer Series tournaments, http://www.sprucemeadows.com/tournaments/ will each have 50/50 raffles and will have a winner drawn each day of
the tournament.
We are particularly mindful of the needs of the
residents of Fort McMurray and will be devoting a large portion of the proceeds
from the 50/50 funds generated in the next 2 months to charities that will
support the people of Fort McMurray.
We realize that many organizations are in need
of raising funds, so an honorarium, to be determined at the end of the
Tournament Season, will be allocated to those that have assisted us throughout
the season.
If you or
your club are interested in volunteering as 50/50 ticket sellers for any of the
upcoming tournaments (June 16-19, June 30- July3, or September 7-11) please
contact Brett Waldroff of the Leg Up Foundation, at Brett.Waldroff@sprucemeadows.com, and A.J. Smith of the 4-H Foundation of Alberta, at smith@4hab.com, for more details and to sign up. Any members that
volunteer on behalf of a club will have their hours counted towards the
honorarium, which will be split between all participating Clubs, and the 4-H
Alberta Legacy Fund to be used for 4-H programming.
Thank you,
A.J. Smith
