Thank you and Good Bye, Bruce Banks

Thank You and Good Bye,

Since November 2000 I have been privileged to work with an amazing group of volunteers, staff and corporate friends that all had the same goal – ensure 4-H Alberta remains strong and viable to allow our members the opportunities to succeed.

After 15 ½ years I have decided to leave 4-H Alberta and seek new challenges. This decision was made because I believe it is time for fresh energy to continue the goal of our volunteers, staff and corporate friends.

On April 5, 2016 we passed the torch from myself to Leah Jones. Leah officially became the new Chief Executive Officer of 4-H Foundation of Alberta. Leah can be contacted at jones@4hab.com or phone directly at 403-869-3528. I will be available to support Leah until April 29.

Thank you for your support during my tenure with 4-H Foundation of Alberta.

Canada's Farmers Grow Communities

Canada's Farmers Grow Communities - Presented by Monsanto

Growing Communities. Improving Lives.

Now in its fourth full year, Canada’s Farmers Grow Communities is a program aimed at strengthening rural communities by equipping local non-profit organizations with funds to carry out much-needed community work. The aim is for farmers to help improve the lives of many people living in rural communities. The Monsanto Fund, the philanthropic arm of the Monsanto Company, has expanded the Canada’s Farmers program to provide a total of 66 grants, each valued at $2,500, to charitable and not-for-profit groups nominated by farmers. In the past three years, Canadian farmers have applied on behalf of agricultural societies, 4-H clubs, playgrounds, daycares and school projects, community sporting organizations, libraries and health/service groups.

Eligible farmers must be the age of majority in the province they reside in and actively farm corn, soybeans and/or canola in one of the 33 territories identified within Canada. Eligible farmers can fill out an application nominating the community organization of their choosing by visiting http://canadasfarmers.ca/
