For the past eight year, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen (CAPL) has sponsored two separate raffles with all proceeds benefitting 4-H Alberta. CAPL purchases the Reserve Champion Steer from the annual Calgary Stampede Steer Classic show, which becomes the coveted first prize of each raffle - a side of delicious Alberta Beef!
Each raffle also features several other fantastic prizes, generously donated by various sponsors, such as: iPads, iPods, and tickets to the Calgary Flames or Edmonton Oilers, NHL hockey jerseys, golf packages, vacation vouchers and more.
Tickets go on sale in April and will be available for purchase by contacting the Foundation: 1.877.682.2153.
The money raised from the Steer Classic Raffle has over the years gone to supporting several provincial 4-H Alberta Programs such as: People Developing People (PDP) (now called Aspiring Intermediate Members), Provincial Summer Camping Program, Club Week and 4-H Alberta Regional Communications. CAPL also provide two annual 4-H scholarships for $1,250 each. In 2013, a cheque for $16,500 was presented to 4-H Alberta at CAPL's Annual General Meeting held in October.
4-H Foundation of Alberta is currently looking for volunteers to help sell tickets this spring. If you are interested please contact Rae-Lee Pieschel, email: pieschel@4hab.com, ph: 587.999.2240.
This partnership allows 4-H Alberta to continue to deliver quality programs!
